Spring
Spring is a season of change. It is a natural time to lighten the load, move more, and refresh daily habits. These spring health tips focus on water, whole foods, and simple routines that support a gentle cleanse.
Whole food diet
Base your meals on fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and their cold pressed oils, legumes, sprouts, and whole grains. Keep meals colourful and simple. Aim for a variety of textures and flavours. A handful of leafy greens and a spoon of good oil can lift almost any plate.
Water
If you want an easy detox, better skin, better digestion, more energy, weight loss, vitality, better memory and concentration, improved moods and elimination, then simply drink water. Keep a bottle with you. Sip across the day. Add a slice of lemon or cucumber if that helps you drink more.
Walking
An optimum mind and body needs daily cleansing. Walking keeps everything moving by encouraging circulation, breath, and a steady mood. Try a brisk 20 minute walk most days. Fresh air helps you feel clear and focused.
Juicing
Juicing is higher eliminative, yet your body still receives good carbohydrates for energy. Fresh juices supply bio available vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and enzymes. Start with simple blends like carrot and apple or celery and pear. Drink slowly and notice how you feel.
Dry skin brushing
Dry skin brushing is an affordable way to encourage soft and glowing skin. It can help the appearance of cellulite and it supports lymph movement. Brush toward the heart for a few minutes before a shower. Follow with a light natural oil.
Epsom salt bath
Epsom salts have a drawing effect on the body, pulling toxins away through the skin. Since skin is a major route of elimination, this is a gentle way to support any cleanse. Add one to two cups to a warm bath and soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
Massage
To help stimulate the bowel and dislodge built up waste, the abdomen can be massaged in the direction of the colon, from the lower right corner, clockwise to the lower left. Lymphatic drainage and reflexology may also be helpful. Breathe slowly and relax.
Hydrotherapy, relaxation, stretching and meditation
Alternate warm and cool water in the shower, then rest. Gentle stretches loosen tight areas. A short, quiet meditation helps you reset your day. Small, regular acts make spring health tips easy to follow.
Choose two or three of these ideas and keep them up for a few weeks. Notice what changes first. Keep it light and consistent.
